
The online talk titled “Traffic and Transportation Psychology: Applications and Fields of Practice,” organized by the Department of Psychology, was held on December 22, 2025, at 20:30 via the Google Meet platform. The speakers of the event were Assist. Prof. Dr. Alev Aktaş (Sivas Cumhuriyet University) and Dr. Özgün Özkan (Agilysis Limited). The session was moderated by Research Assistant Dr. Zeynep Akyüz. Within the scope of the talk, the theoretical foundations of traffic and transportation psychology, its place within the discipline of psychology, driver behaviors, psychological and demographic factors affecting accident risk, and practice-oriented research and application areas were discussed. The event also included insights into the historical development and current practices in the field, and the speakers responded to questions from the participants. The event, which aimed to increase students’ professional awareness and strengthen their knowledge and interest in the field of traffic and transportation psychology, was successfully completed with active participation and discussion.
